A couple of weeks ago, I got strep throat. The doctor I went to gave me the wrong medication, so it immediately came back this last weekend. If I never have another 103 fever, it will be too soon.
One of my dear friends across the country surprised me with these flowers, which made the whole thing a little easier to deal with. He’s such a dick.
This was yesterday, but I’m late for gpoyw. D’oh.

A year ago today, one of my best friends from high school got married. It was an amazing day full of friendship, dancing, sweat, laughter, and tears. Full of the realization that we are grown up, that sometimes people you love change and drift out of your life, but it’s still okay to love and celebrate them.

Social Experiment of the Day: Writer Alyssa Kramer recently created a desperately unattractive — and fake — OkCupid profile for her “white trash” alter ego “Marla.” (Embiggen.)
“The goal was to be as incredibly weird, rude, and unattractive as possible to see if guys would still talk to me,” she said.
Much to Kramer’s horrified amusement, Marla the Lowlife garnered plenty of interest — the attention she received is equal parts disgusting, creepy, and… predictable.
